EMPOWERMENT SCHOLARSHIP FUND

The Ohio Sickle Cell and Health Association  and the Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Sickle Cell Services Program, is committed to investing financial resources in individuals with Sickle Cell Disease and their families. Attendance and participation in educational conferences and events is one avenue to further the mission of OSCHA “Education, Advocacy, and Support to persons and families affected and at-risk for Sickle Cell Disease…” To this end, ODH created the Empowerment Scholarship Fund. This Fund allows OSCHA to invest in individuals with Sickle Cell Disease and their families to enable them to attend and participate in educational events.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

  • Applicant(s) MUST reside in Ohio AND be an individual with Sickle Cell Disease. Note: Parents/legal guardians/caregivers/spouses of an individual with Sickle Cell Disease are eligible for scholarship assistance. No more than two (2) members of the same family will be eligible to request scholarship assistance (contingent upon the available funds).
  • Applicant(s) MUST be a member of an Adult/Pediatric Affected Family Support Group or a Patient/Consumer with a Regional Sickle Cell Project.
